A computer crash at the smartphone firm’s data centre in the Berkshire town has left millions of users across the globe unable to access email or internet services, or the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) system. The company faced a growing backlash from angry users as it failed to solve – or explain – the problem, which began around 11am on Monday. [via]
And yet, BlackBerry fanboys and fangirls probably still haven’t learnt their lesson.

Don’t hate on BB…. somehow with the issues I still love my phone…

Point proven.
Fangirl alert!
Lets not forget Apple’s iOS5 hiccups yesterday too.
Android FTW!!
(yawn) Android have a BBM equivalent?? (Show me on my Android before I’ll believe you, and no WhatsApp is not equivalent as it’s not Android, but BB, iPhone, Nokia, etc.)
Yes, the BIS is a nice service, but then you do depend on a single entity. However with Skype/Whatsapp/ you still depend on a single entity, there are no true “internet cloud” messaging services available other than the SMS systems.
(Okay, the IRC boys might disagree, but then I’ll point them to the fact that IRC is also dependent on the specific network’s resilience)
I agree with BeenCoerced. BlackBerry’s BBM is a winner.
When it works, that is.
Android is still better than Blackberry in general though…
